That's right it was exactly one year ago today after 30hrs of travel from Melbourne, that we arrived in Switzerland. The past year has definitely been an adventure, possibly not all the adventure we expected. I definitely thought i would be closer to fluent in German, perhaps this time next year. I also thought we would have seen more of Europe, but with three little girls underfoot, who prefer "normal" activities, and seem to get sick awfully often we will need to live here more than a lifetime to see it all. Our little part of Switzerland and its surrounds have been well explored. Hey I visit Germany each week just to buy groceries. When I feel like some authentic french pastries, no problem France is only 15mins drive away. We really are so lucky to have the opportunity to live on the outskirts of such a great city and have such an adventure.
So here we are the Wiltshire's, at the top of Mt Pilatus in the heart of Switzerland.
And here is a shot of perhaps one of my most exciting days in the past year. It is such a cliche but I really expected Switzerland to be more snowy and cold (we are skiers so very excited to be so close to such great mountains), but where were live it took almost a whole year before our garden was blanketed in snow.
We have no idea how long we will live here, but we will definitely continue to experience as much as we can.
Happy 1st Anniversary!!
